GeoExpress Trial NAIP Press LizardTech Products

With the release of imagery from the USDA APFO and vendors providing imagery in .sid format a new program is available from GIS Services that can provide the GeoExpress Lite license at a reduced cost to government and non profit entities.

GeoExpress with MrSID

The Multi-resolution Seamless Image Database (MrSID) is a powerful wavelet based image compressor, viewer and file format for massive raster images that enables instantaneous viewing and manipulation of massive images both locally and over networks while maintaining maximum image quality. Features include unprecedented compression ratios; true multiple resolutions, selective decompression, seamless mosaics, and browsing.

MrSID has been designed for a wide range of markets including mapping/GIS, document management, medical, and Internet-based delivery of imagery, providing:

Now GeoExpress streamlines your workflow even more by enabling you to encode and publish imagery directly to LizardTech Express Server. Along with many other new features, this improved interoperability makes GeoExpress 7 the ideal command center for your real-world geospatial imaging workflow. In addition to a robust set of imaging tools, GeoExpress offers GMLJP2 support, allowing you to include geography markup language (GML) metadata to JPEG 2000 imagery that downstream applications can use to integrate and make use of your imagery in geospatial workflows, making it easy to repurpose your imagery for a multitude of projects. Plus, the interoperability of GeoExpress with leading GIS applications--ESRI, Leica Geosystems, Autodesk, Intergraph, MapInfo, Bentley and GE/Smallworld and more--enables your customers and partners to view imagery in MrSID format more rapidly using their existing software. Why use the latest GeoExpress?

Express Server

The Ultimate Internet Image and Document Solution

The LizardTech Express Server is the extensible, scalable Internet application designed to enable the serving of high-resolution photographs and perfect reproductions of scanned documents. Quick and easy deployment into your existing workflow is ensured with XML, sample XSL stylesheets and the Express Server's open architecture. Once integrated, LizardTech's "pixel stream" technology makes it possible for your Web server to provide instant viewing of rich content to any device, from broadband to wireless. This cost-effective solution means you deliver superior content without adding bandwidth or hardware. Express Server implementation supports industry-standard file formats and open standards, such as TIFF, JPEG and BMP. Optimized delivery is achieved by use of LizardTech's industry-leading MrSID format for photographs and DjVu format for documents.

The result is a content distribution system that addresses your users' needs for increased usability and Web site depth, while reducing the tremendous costs associated with storage and transmission of quality digital assets.

  • Acts as an accelerator for serving imagery and more than just an image server.
  • Allows for 256 simultaneous hits.
  • Provides modular ties to data bases, and is written in XML.

DjVu lets you easily put your paper documents on the Internet, crystal-clear and in unbelievably small file sizes that can be viewed by anyone. Just scan the original, convert it to DjVu and you've got a stunning image in a file that's 50 to 100 times smaller than a comparable PDF file. And with file sizes less than 1% of the original, you can reduce expenses associated with storing and sending electronic files.

Stunning Download Times and Real-Time Panning and Zooming - With DjVu, there's no more waiting for files to download and display. Download a 50-page color catalog in DjVu format in the time it takes to download a single page of the same catalog in PDF format. The file is then stored in the computer's memory, allowing viewers to pan and zoom around the document in real time - no waiting around for new data to download or the computer to redisplay images. In fact, DjVu allows anyone to scan, store and download documents in a fraction of the time it takes other formats and at compression ratios as high as 1,000:1.

Patented, Breakthrough Technology Results in Amazing Image Quality -DjVu achieves stunning results through separating a scanned document into a layer containing hard edges (like text) and another layer containing colors and softer edges (like photographs). Each layer is then encoded according to the method that yields the best results for image size and clarity. The result is a crystal-clear digital document that retains the quality of the original scanned document.

The Easy Way to Put any Document on the Web -With DjVu, adding hyperlinks to documents is easily accomplished with the click of a mouse. The user interface is intuitive, requiring little effort to integrate into your workflow.
