Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop is a powerful, easy-to-use, data collection solution that enables you to keep using paper maps. The Capturx for ArcGIS extension is the ideal way to create, import, edit, share and act on paper-based data in and between geographic information systems (GIS).
Capturx for ArcGIS Desktop enables you to print out any ArcGIS map and feature legend on standard paper. With this map in the field, select the layer and add the features. After returning to the computer dock the pen and then have the information added as shapefiles and geodatabase features to the map in ArcGIS. Accept or decline the changes and go out into the field again. No GIS training required (but it never hurts).

Only Capturx Forms for Excel enables teams to design forms in Excel, print them on ordinary paper, and have the handwritten data automatically digitized and formatted back into the original Excel fields. Often times GPS datalogging does not provide all the field information needed where set forms using a pen do not require the technically expertise of GPS units. Data can be match that information to their map features.
Non-technical teams get the ease-of-use and independence of simply working with Excel and paper, while also getting structured data which they can use within Excel or provide to IT for easy integration into databases or other backend systems.
